Research
Louise is highly sought-after for her unique research expertise, as one of a handful of Lived Experience researchers globally who have worked in Lived Experience roles, completed PhDs in this field and gone on to secure multiple research fellowships.
Louise has led the most comprehensive program of research to date on the workforce needs of Lived and Living Experience workers, comprising state-based, national, and international research projects using both quantitative and qualitative methods and is excited to bring that knowledge to support others to build their capacity.
Louise has held several research fellowships including a prestigious Fulbright fellowship to conduct research on the Lived Experience workforce in the United States, while based at Yale University. Louise’s ongoing faculty membership of the Yale ‘Program for Recovery and Community Health’ also provides unique connection to the world-leading initiatives that have been devised and tested there, originally under the directorship of seminal researcher Professor Larry Davidson, and currently led by U.S. National Association of Peer Supporters (N.A.P.S.) Founders Award recipient, Professor Chyrell Bellamy.
Research Translation
Louise has a firm commitment to industry based, industry relevant research and believes immersive engagement, relationship building and collaboration with industry and other stakeholders is essential for best practice research outcomes. Louise maintains numerous ongoing collaborations with State and National Commissions, Government departments and significant non-government organisations.
Louise has a particular passion for ensuring research is meaningfully applied and a talent for translation. Louise and her research team have developed a free research translation website which provides many of the key findings of her program of research in accessible, plain language summaries and other resources.
